A wood cutting board with a decorative resin inlay set into the face.
The board is a single piece of wood, with resin poured in and finished to a gloss. A metal fitting sits in the piece. Some shapes carry an integral handle or a hanging hole. Sizes run from 24 x 15.2 x 1.3 cm up to 40 x 30 x 1.5 cm, in natural, brown, blue, white, black, and teal. Grain and poured resin differ from board to board.
Used mainly as a serving board and cared for properly, a wood-and-resin board will last for years, though knife work on the resin can scratch or chip it and heat can soften or cloud it.
Hand-wash promptly with warm water and mild soap, dry thoroughly, and never soak it, run it through a dishwasher, or set it near high heat.
We keep it out as a cheese board, for cheese, cured meat, bread, and fruit, and it carries to the table as it is.
